In census figures there exists a difference between the actual counted population and the official revised results approved by law.
The figures before 1912 are often not reliable, they are constantly subjected to changes whether indigenous population is included or not.
Also the splitting of departments and the changes in borders between those have a harmful effect on the reliability of the figures.
